Reducing Anxiety in Bullied Teens: A scooping review on cognitive therapy

Background: Bullying is a serious problem that can have a devastating impact on the mental health of adolescents. Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems experienced by bullied adolescents. Study aims: This paper aims to review the latest research done on the effectiveness of cognitive therapy to reduce anxiety in adolescents experiencing bullying. Method: A scoping review on the literatures reporting the use of CBT is an intervention to reduce anxiety in adolescents who have been bullied. The literature search was performed on three databases: Google Scholar, PubMed dan Scopus, during period of year 2013-2022. From 1,042 journals identified during initial screening, there are three article met the inclusion criteria. Result: CBT was effective in reducing anxiety symptoms in adolescents who had been bullied. Conclusion: CBT is a promising treatment for reducing anxiety in adolescents who have been bullied.

Pendahuluan: Perundungan adalah masalah serius yang dapat berdampak buruk pada kesehatan mental remaja. Kecemasan adalah salah satu masalah kesehatan mental yang paling umum dialami oleh remaja korban perundungan. Tujuan penelitian: untuk mengkaji penelitian terbaru mengenai keefektifan terapi kognitif untuk mengurangi kecemasan pada remaja yang mengalami perundungan. Metode: Penelusuran literatur dilakukan terhadap hasil-hasil penelitian mengenai intervensi CBT untuk menurunkan kecemasan pada remaja korban perundungan. Penelusuran pustaka dilakukan pada tiga database, yaitu Google Scholar, PubMed dan Scopus, selama periode tahun 2013-2022. Dari 1.041 jurnal yang terindetifikasi, terdapat tiga jurnal yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil: terapi kognitif perilaku mampu menurunkan kecemasan pada remaja yang memiliki pengalaman buruk dengan perundungan. Kesimpulan: CBT merupakan intervensi yang menjanjikan untuk mengurangi kecemasan pada remaja korban perundungan.
